In our previous Newsletter we had congratulated our learners who had participated in the National final round in the English and Afrikaans sections of the South African Literacy Association Competition. At the time we did not have the final results for our learners in the isiZulu category.

We are proud to congratulate and announce the amazing achievements of the following learners:

  • Cayden Naidoo (Grade 4 isiZulu Prepared Reading) achieved 2nd position
  • Nqubeko Thabethe (Grade 6 isiZulu Prepared Reading) achieved 2nd position
  • Tshepo Dombo (Grade 7 isiZulu Prepared Reading) achieved 3rd position
  • Minenhle Sibanda (Grade 5 isiZulu Prepared Reading) achieved 4th position

National-ChampionsNational Winners

As with the English and Afrikaans sections where we had a National Champion in each section, we are extremely proud to announce that we have not one but two National Champions in the isiZulu section.

Well done to our two National Champions:

  • Katleho Masia (Grade 4 isiZulu Prepared Reading)
  • Zinhle Ngcama (Grade 6 isiZulu Prepared Reading)

While our learners have traditionally performed well in the SALA competition with Bryneven boasting several National Winners previously, this is the first year where we have a total of 4 National Champions which is a monumental achievement.

A fantastic effort and job well done to the learners, parents and staff involved in this amazing achievement.
