Uniforms & Grooming
Uniformity in school dress enhances the tone of the school. It fosters a feeling of “belonging together” amongst the learners and a sense of loyalty and pride.
Please help us uphold the image of Bryneven by ensuring that your child wears the full and correct uniform at all times, especially in public places such as shopping centres and on the way to and from school.

Personal Appearance and Grooming
Girls – Hair and Jewellery
Girls’ hair should be neatly tied back if longer than shoulder length. Short hairstyles off the collar require an Alice band or are to be tied or clipped back neatly. No perming or colouring, including rinses, tints, highlights or peroxide, will be allowed.
Hair accessories may only be yellow or blue. Girls may wear a watch or a medic alert disc. Girls may wear one stud earring or sleeper in each ear.
Boys – Hair and Jewellery
Boys’ hair must be neatly cut and be clear of the collar level. No perming or colouring, including rinses, tints, highlights or peroxide, will be allowed. Boys may wear a watch or a medic alert disc. No earrings, chains or bracelets may be worn.
Girls' Dress Code
Summer: School dress (blue, yellow and white check), white ankle socks, black school shoes, grey jersey with school stripes and school blazer (optional).
Winter: Regulation white long-sleeved shirt, school tie, grey school tunic, long grey socks with school stripes or grey stockings, black school shoes, grey jersey with school stripes and school blazer (optional). Girls may also wear long grey trousers.
Parents are to please ensure that all clothing items are clearly marked with their child’s name.

Physical Education Lessons and Sport Practices
House T-shirts or white sports shirts with yellow trim, white or royal blue shorts, white sports shoes and white ankle socks.
Tennis
White shorts and white sports shirt with yellow trim (boys), royal blue pleated skirts and white top with blue and yellow stripes around the sleeves (girls), white tennis socks, predominantly white sports shoes.
Swimming
Royal blue and yellow swimming costume, official yellow cap or house colour cap. Speedo or skins.
Cricket
White shorts and white sports shirt with yellow trim, white cricket socks with school stripes, predominantly white sports shoes, royal blue cricket hat with school badge or royal blue peak cap with school badge.
Athletics
Royal blue and yellow soccer shirt, royal blue shorts, white tennis socks, predominantly white sports shoes.
Soccer
Royal blue and yellow soccer shirt, royal blue shorts, royal blue and yellow soccer socks, shin pads and soccer boots.
Cross country
Royal blue and yellow soccer shirts, royal blue shorts, white tennis socks and predominantly white sports shoes.
Hockey
Royal blue and yellow soccer shirt, royal blue shorts (boys) royal blue pleated skirt and white top with blue and yellow stripes around the sleeves (girls), royal blue and yellow soccer socks, shin pads and hockey boots.
A blue sports tracksuit is also available, which may be worn all year round for sports events.
